幅12ｍ、奥行3ｍの庭の北側に高さ5ｍの壁がある。この空間に日本の庭を作るよう依頼された。日本の野山の景色が描かれた金屏風を壁に立て掛けてその絵の中の石が前面にころげ落ちてきた姿を枯山水とした。</p>

A 12m x 3m rectangular space with a 5m wall on the north side - this was a space given with a request to make a Japanese garden. The idea came to me to install against the wall a gilt folding screen and to make a <i>karesansui</i> garden in front of it as if the rocks had dropped out of a Japanese landscape painting painted on its surface.
